While in America, Melanie would learn the "Art of the Make-over", becoming connected with several specialized dermatologists and celebrity plastic surgeons, gaining access to new and upcoming procedures before they were widely received. She has a keen eye for recognizing what techniques work and assists individuals with the creation of an appropriate fashion-forward wardrobe to achieve the desired result.

On her return to England, Melanie decided to use her design knowledge and business acumen to move into the acquisition, development and sale of real estate. Identifying residential properties in poor state of repair, she then extensively renovates and remodels the houses, transforming them into desirable homes for today's demanding buyer.

Melanie has a strong attachment to the romantic country of Italy where she spends a considerable amount of time living near Venice in a beautiful villa, while there she can explore her passion for cooking and equestrian pursuits and is also within a short distance of the exquisite fashion houses of Milan.

Melanie's mother instilled in her daughter at an early age that a life devoid of giving back to the community is not a life fulfilled. As a young girl and for many years hereafter, Melanie graciously volunteers her time in hospice care where she assists terminally ill individuals to pass over with grace and dignity. During her time with the hospice she has learnt the most valuable tools a successful matchmaker could possibly hope for; compassion, understanding and the ability to listen and embrace the word of others.
